Members of Leadership Clinton County Alumni helped Dave Wallace with his efforts at restoring Highland Cemetery in Lock Haven for their service project this year. Members of the Alumni Group along with April Henry, Leadership Coordinator and Lindsey Moore, and Patrick and Nicholas Carroll spent Saturday morning, June 4th, helping Mr. Wallace reset headstones and footstones that have moved due to time, erosion and vandalism. The group was able to reset nine stones. Mr. Wallace estimates that the group’s work has saved approximately $1400 for the Cemetery Association and its efforts to restore the non denominational cemetery located near Lock Haven University.
Many of the graves at the cemetery are over one hundred years old. One of the stones the group reset was marking the grave of a Civil War Veteran.
